Kia Toa Performance

Malo leilei and welcome to my blog post.

Today I was learning about resilience from a famous man called Bernard Mangakahia. Bernard and his father in law called Pat Mathers climbed the highest mountain in East Africa. It was almost 6000 meters tall and it was called Kilimanjaro. He was so resilient when he was a kid that he was playing with fire sticks and hit himself on the head but this didn't stop him. His hero was his great grandma called mere.He told us how to do a one handed clap.Travel around the world like Bernard Mangakahia. One way to show resilience is to practice and you'll get better and better. In the 1800's the black ladies were not allowed to sit in the front seat only the back. A lady called Rosa Parks stood up for other people and sat in the front seat and did not move to the back so she inspired the other ladies by sitting in the front seat. So one lady did it and a another lady did it. Bernard taught us a dance that was a Samoan Sasa. We had to slap our self on the knee and thigh. A shocking thing that made me surprised was that Bernard's dad was in the New Zealand... Army for twenty years.

Bernard gave us a challenge. The challenge was about being brave and resilient and just try your best.

Thank you for reading my blog post.Feel free to comment on this blog story.

Starting term two with a push.

Malo lei lei blogging world.

Today I was skateboarding outside on the sunny court. The safety Gear we had to put on were knee pads, wrist Guards, helmets, and also elbow pads.I started of with a cricket push and then I kept on trying and my skateboard went straight forward.

How to pack your gear together

  • Firstly put your helmet down on the floor like a bowl
  • Secondly put your knee pad on the floor like the helmet and leave one knee pad out.
  • Thirdly put your other knee pad and put it over your knee pad like so.
  • Next put you elbow on top of the knee pad but make sure your elbow pad is strapped together.
  • Then wrap your wrist guard strapped together. And put it on top of the elbow pad.
  • Next take the knee pad strap at the bottom and wrap it around the whole gear.
  • Lastly put it in you helmet and clip it and then your done.
